Yesterday and today have been such eventful days!
Our last lesson yesterday was "computer knowledge", and since I was done with my task, I left a bit earlier. "Oh, good. Now I can catch the earlier bus!" I thought, showing off a wide smile on my face. One of my friend from 9th grade took the same bus. We talked about our schools and our schedules. Suddenly, while the bus was pulling out from the bus stop, a taxi car hit the bus! I was really surprised, because I was sitting near the middle exit of the bus, and the seats are quite low down so you can't see through the windows. The bus stopped and so did the taxi driver (in the middle of the road by the way, so there was quite a ruckus). It was the taxi drivers fault, because he had the duty to give way for the bus as it was pulling out. After a few minutes, the bus driver told us that we had to take the next bus since he had to stay there. So we waited for 30 minutes... And that was the bus I thought I would have taken if I hadn't finished school early.
I arrived at home at 16.40...(should have been home around 16.00) and was met by another surprise - my mother. She had finished work early, 15.00 (what an coincidence huh?) and had just called me to ask me where I was. So if I had just called her, she could have picked me up. But that's how it goes I guess. : ]
Today I went on a health check, since I haven't been feeling well this week (it all started last Tuesday). I finished school at 10.00 today, our schedule says to 12.00, but the last 2 hours are like a scheduled time for doing homework. If you haven't got any, then you're free to leave. My mother picked me up 11.10, and we went to the care center. A doctor examined me and asked me a bunch of questions. She concluded they needed to take some blood samples, and I got chills down my back (I'm really really scared of anything that's about blood). Out of curiously I asked: "How many samples do you need? And what for?". "Well, there'll only be one sting, but exactly how many I cannot tell. We need to check your blood sugar, liver values, iron amount, vitamin B-12 and some other things" she answered. "Okay," I thought, "it can't be that bad. It probably just a sting in my finger and then it's done, as it usually is". Oh how wrong I was!
My mother accompanied me to the small laboratory where there were 2 nurses. They asked for my name and typed it into the computer. They printed out 7 stickers, containing words I could never understand, on a piece of paper. I sat down in a white, quite big, chair. Everything in that room seemed to be white or light blueish. More chills started to go down my back as I sat there in this cold, clinical clean room. "Have you ever been taking blood samples from your arm before?" one of the nurses asked me. "Huh? Why my arm?" I thought, and answered her: "No, I haven't". "Well then, the thing is this. We need to take 7 sample tubes of your blood, and as you understand, we need to take blood from your arm. Some people thinks it's a bit scary, but it will go smooth." she said. My expression was like this ---> O___O. I tried to remain calm as she asked me how she could make me feel comfortable. She checked which arm she would sting and then told me to relax and close my eyes. The sting wasn't a big deal, but after a while, I felt dizzy and ill, as if I was going to pass out.
Of course I passed out. It was like if I was dreaming. When I came to, I was lying down in that chair (which they had lowered) and the 2 nurses and my mother was talking to me. "You passed out really quick" said the nurse. "You seem to have a really low blood pressure, so that's probably the reason why". She had stopped taking my blood and I thought it was all over. "Is everything done?" I asked hopefully. "Unfortunately not. I had to stop at the 4th tube. You can choose what you want to do now. You can either return here in a week and do the rest, or you'll come with me in another room and take the rest of it lying down. In that way, you won't pass out". So that's what I did. As she said, I didn't pass out, nor felt ill.
Now afterwards, I can tell I feel really weak. She had to sting me in the other arm too, since there wasn't much blood "left" in the first one. I'm still a bit chocked about everything, since it was my first time taking such blood samples. The doctor will call me tomorrow if there's something notable in the samples. She said she thought I'm having problems with my blood values and blood pressure.
We'll see if she'll call tomorrow...
